Slept great last night! This morning we found another one of those things stuck in our barbed-fence! haha There are three more live ones in sight from the window. We decided to just leave them alone, but we know they are spreading.
11:23am
We got an update from the TV! There aren't any actual live news crews or shows or anything but they have converted to text updates on a blue screen. The screen reads, "CAUTION! AVOID ALL CONTACT WITH THE CREATURES! CAUTION!"
It continued on...
"The creatures seem to attack anything living in their personal vicinity. Stay out of their sight! Reports say that more countries have been attacked... The military is setting up a safe zone in Texas. Their plan of operation is to migrate the population of America down to southern countries. They will be continually sending people down and taking in any new survivors at any time. They do not play on moving the safe zone at all! One flow of survivors slows and stops combined military forces will move throughout the U.S. to "Cleanse" the country.
"MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE SAFE ZONE WITH CAUTION!"
1:12pm
We sat down and talked it over. We decided to continue to post up here, despite the shocking news. We thought that since they are not going to move the safe zone and will be taking in survivors at any time, then we might as well stay here until it is no longer safe.

I played with Sasha a bit today. She really is an amazing dog! She is really sweet and amazingly talented! Also, she is probably the smartest dog I have ever seen! She can sniff any item and be trained to attack, find, or even hide that item! Cole taught me how to command her and what she knows. If you give her something to smell, hold up a fist above the item and say find, she will find it no matter where you place it! haha It is so amazing, she has an incredible sense of smell! If you make an L with your left hand and hold an item and throw it, or let her smell it, then say Attack, she will do it! She can even be taught to attack carriers of an item. Cole said he used this to find and catch drug users. Finally Cole taught me how to make her hide something. He told me to hold out my pinky, say hide, and throw my keys. Sasha went straight to the keys and hid them under the couch! "Wow, that is so amazing!" I responded! "It should be... for 5 grand." Replied Cole.
Aside from being very disciplined, Sasha was very friendly and very playful. Cole told me if I ever needed to tell Sasha to straighten up or quit playing I would just need to display the silence command and she would be quiet and await my every command.... very useful!
Cole has gotten very close to Sasha... She was the only thing left of his family.
I asked Cole to tell me the story he has told me a couple times once more, to refreshen my memory so I could write it down.
Cole: It was any normal night.. The air was cold but not yet frosted with icy snow. He fell asleep next to his wife of three years. She was so beautiful, so precious to me. His three year old daughter lie asleep across the hall. I awoke to the smell of hot ember and the sounds of screams. I got up to quickly and urgently investigate the sounds. They were coming from the basement. The basement is where we kept our playroom. Cindy would often take Marrissa down there to play. Especially on nights where Marrissa was having trouble sleeping. The stairwell was engulfed with flames... Birthed from the playroom. As soon as I called to them, the screams stopped... Sasha ran to my side from the kitchen, where we kept her bed. I picked her up and ran out I set her outside and ran back inside. I didn't know what to do... I grabbed a bucket and ran back and forth from the kitchen and the stairwell. I know it is pathetic... there is no way I could have saved them, but I couldn't just let them die without at least doing something. The running increased my breathing and the amount of smoke I took in. My body finally gave up the fight and fell to the ground. I awoke in an ambulance next to a nurse and a fireman (who was holding Sasha). I immediately pulled off my oxygen mask and turned to the fireman. "My family?" I questioned. He looked away for a moment, pursed his lips, and shook his head. The only words I heard on the news (about my tragic experience) the next day, before I gave up and tuned out was... In Breaking News....
